BlacknightX, we should meet up sometime. I'd like to see what you've done with your 8.

DEFINITELY! I'd love to hear how your's sounds. I haven't made any changes yet, but I did order a CZ unit so when it gets here I'll be playing around with that. I've already got a canscan so I can measure my AFR and even stock it doesn't look that bad. It almost never drops below 12 which is actually better than some guys I've seen AFTER they tweak their CZ.
Let me know when's good for you and we'll get together.

Hello, new here. A couple of you know me from other clubs! We just bought a sunlight silver 8 this week, and are enjoying it very much. BlackNight, I totally agree with you, we have 2 kids also. It's also really nice to have the extra interior space(useable space!). I've been planning on a 350z but have honestly been getting kinda tired(bored) of the bodystyle. I went & talked to a friend that had a rx-8 on the lot so we looked, and drove it. I was really impressed. Love all the different lines in the body. What all have you done to yours BlackNight? Flawlez, remember the fairlady is a 2+2. Having a back seat doesn't mean it's not a sports car. TTYL8R..........

the backseats were one of the main selling points of this car. i needed the seats for my 5 year old, but have fit two 200+ lb guys comfortably back there as well. i drove the EVO VIII and WRX sti becuase they were 4-door, and yes they were fast as heck. i just couldn't spend that kind of money just for an engine and cheap interior. The 8 had great interior, a good engine and looks 10 times better than the other two. I feel I made the right choice. I couldn't be happier with my 8 (unless it was turbocharged ;D)

I doubt I'm going to be able to drop $3.5k for SC or $5.5k for a turbo (if they ever come out with one). I'm going to see how Silver's 8 sounds with his intake and exhaust b4 I get mine. In the mean time I think it will be fun to play with mine CanZoomer piggy back computer and see if I can squeak out a few more HP that way. I'll let you guys know.

I'd like to see/hear that as well. So there are 3 rx-8 owners on here.....self included? I've seen a couple of threads on other forums about the canzoomer thing, but what exactly is it? I had also thought of the evo, found a very good deal. Just couldn't get over the looks, well my wife couldn't! The 8 also had such a good ride. Anyways, where do both of you live? I'm in Benton. Have either of you got the clear side markers yet? I believe that is going to be our first modification to ours.

i'm in conway. i had the clear corners on my car until i got front ended, and the body shop ordered the ambers as the replacements. both of you guys are more than welcome to check out my 8. maybe it will give you some ideas as far as mods. i don't have a whole lot done to her yet, but it's a work in progress.

That would be fun. Both of you are in Conway, right? Does the intake make very much of a difference?

hey folks, 8 owner here. I think the car is genius, the market is (was when it was released) already crowded with the "typical" 2 door, rwd whatever, there was the Z, S2k, Z4, Bmws etc you could even count the Silvia and some of the older rwd cars as well as drifting has brought alot of these cars back into the fold even if they are older. So mazda took the dimensions of a 2 door, and added 2 more doors, plus the rotary comes back and we get rwd all for a starting price of 25 grand. No other car on the market can make that claim, nor make the sound of a rotary, plus it's only a matter of time before these cars start producing some crazy numbers as the ECU's mysteries and hurdles are overcome. I think people are/were under the misconception this is some sort of 7 replacement, my theory is that Mazda wanted to reintroduce the renesis/rotary to a broader market, test the waters, see how things hold up, and if things look good (i;e- car sales, reliability, warranty etc is not killing them) then they can justify releasing another 7 variant, honestly I don't think they would have pulled it off had they started with another 2 door standard coupe, it would have probably been more expensive, and plus it would have probably had smaller HP numbers than all of its competitors which would have killed it off for good.
