Disclaimer, dont do this unless you dont care to experiment on your injectors and risk f**king them up, I am not responsible.
I have done some research on injectors for my car. Stock is 310cc with stock 52psi fuel pressure. Comptech has injectors that are 520cc for my car, after researching them, others have found and proved that they are stock injectors with screens removed.
I will edit in pics once I get my replacement injectors in after I got a bright idea and screwed one up.
I dont know anything bout other injectors, I can only speak for the K series injectors, so that is what I am doing this DIY on, I have heard that you can do these to SRT4s and to RX7s, the RX7 it bumps them to like 850cc. After doing this, spend the 20 bucks at Arkansas Injector to have them cleaned, or send them to RC for 25 bucks and they will clean and flow test them, as well as send a readout with what they each flowed and cc'd. 100bucks still cheaper than 300-500. Also, with the Kseries, they have found that the flow didnt screw anything up, and with Kpro, which is a must to do this, tuning downlow and uptop was not a problem with these injectors, cause without tuning, downlow ran leaner, and WOT ran richer, course this is all what I read.
First remove the rubber Orings, and I used a flat head screwdriver to pop off the plastic tip, which one, I drove in my thumb numerous times and cut it all to hell, second, I did break one. I am sure there is a tool out there or an easier way to do this. After I got the piece off, I took my dremel with a sanding bit, set the speed to 7 which I found was easiest speed, faster was too hard, and slower just welded it kinda. You grind from outside edge to almost middle(right before the holes in middle start) You do a lil at a time, working your way around, and doing oposite sides I found worked best. As you go down, you will begin to see the outline of the screen, once you do, dont grind on the screen, just the edge, it should pop away if done right, if not, should have piece you can peel up and flick off. Then reinstall the plastic piece and Orings, and have ready to ship out or to be taken to be cleaned.
And there ya have it, bigger injectors for less than a bill!
My injector with screen removed is a pindle style, the flow is not as good as it was with the screen on, but RC says it flows great still, and alot of people are doing and using them. And a major manufacturer does it and retails them, so its gotta be safe for me. Good luck on yours if you try it.
