If any of you Little Rock area guys get a chance to go by U-Pull-It, keep your eyes peeled for a front pair of '90-'96 Q45 calipers for me. I'm willing to pay a finders fee or pay a little extra if you want to pull them. I think they charge $8 per caliper. I have about $45 in my budget, just remember to grab the bolts if you get them. Not necessary but I'd like to have them. I dont need any pads or anything. Also keep an eye out for any S14s.

Its been a few months since I went last. Both locations had Q45s there and I pulled one set for a buddy.

I searched the other day and only found a '97 Q45, which wont work. After doing some research, J30 brakes are almost identical and are quite abundent. The calipers are very close and they use the same rotors as the Q45. U-Pull-It on Baseline has 5 of them. So this weekend I'm going to go pull a set. Trae, if you want a set, I'll pull them. We can drill them for 4x114.3. We did it for Kenny and he has 5k miles without any problems. I can get new rotors for about $15 each with my discount. Totals about $65 for the swap with new pads & rotors, $40 with used pads & rotors.
S13/S14 = 18mm x 250mm & 1 piston caliper J30/Q45 = 28mm x 280mm & 2 piston caliper
The rotors are 1.18" larger in diameter & .39" thicker. The caliper is only 1lb heavier but the rotors are 5lbs heavier. You have about 40% more surface area and about 25% more clamping force over stock S13 brakes. Definitely worth the extra unsprung weight, IMO.
You can also run altima rotors if you want to stay 4-lug and dont want to re-drill. I can get them for about $13 each. The Altima rotors are like 22mm x 278mm. I have heard of many people running them but am unsure as to how much strain it puts on the calipers. The min. thickness allowed on the J30/Q45 rotors is 20mm. So you are going to be within spec for a while but dont know about running them as they get thinner. I suppose as long as you upkeep your brake system like a normal car-guy you wouldn't ever have a problem with it.

I paid $150 shipped for new conversion spindles with brand new bearings. You can also use S14 spindles if you can find them. Z32 N/A spindles will work but you have to get the differential and axles as well. The splines on the axles are larger than 240sx ones. Hopefully I can pick up a VLSD out of one of the J30s, if one of them is a low mileage car.
BTW: If you are wanting to go 5-lug and dont want to upgrade the rear brakes, I can get S14 rear rotors for about $13 each new. They are identical specs to the S13 rotors except 5x114.3 of course. Thats the route I'm going for now. I would like to go Z32 in the rear but you have to have conversion lines and the parking brake is mounted differently. Not quite worth the effort right now.
