How many of you guys change their own breakpads? I need to replace mine, and am curious as to the difficulty to do it myself vs. the cost of having it done somewhere. I'm not the most talented person with tools, so if it is too complicated i'm in trouble. Thanks for any help.

You mean BRAKEpads? Its not hard you need a good C-Clamp and couple of common metric hand tools. It will be pretty easy if you car doesn't have a million miles of crude and rust built up on it.

I've changed my pads on all my cars. The hardest car i've ever changed was on a 97 sable the rear calipers have to be screwed back in and if you don't have the special tool it can be combersome. Ford only did that probaly so you'd have to use there service dept. but on most cars its pretty straight forward.

what type of brakes are the rear on the car you wanna change? (im guessing the rx8)

Easy job. Sometimes frustrating if you don't have the tool to crank the piston back in the caliper but a good set of needle nose pliers work just fine. Once you figure out how to mount the pads and brackets in the caliper, you're set. Good Luck!
