I'm trying to put a J-spec S5 13BT in my '87 TII. I'm probably going to end up going with a US-spec harness do to the length but I'm having issues with the S4 interior harness not matching the S5 ECU. Anyone know of a wiring diagram or conversion harness? I've got a spare S5 interior harness plug I can use to convert it. I've searched the archives at RX7club and have posted in the past about it and am getting no help.

The guys on RX7club are no help. I like their "just do it" attitudes but they dont want to help or give any pointers. I'm sick and tired of everyone treating me like a freakin noob on there.
Anyways, found these 2 threads. They have some info I can use in them but nothing so far I have found "in plain black and white". I'll read through them more thoroughly later.

Went to take a peak and thier server is kicking a database error at me... Anyone eles having that problem?

Thats why I use this board! To highjack Tony's thread a bit further, I also quit visiting da club for the same reasons.. I understand why people get aggervated with multiple post on the same subject, but thats the moderators responsiblity.. Not some punk who has to flame you just because your search didn't yeild any results.. And as allways, the flames go unanswered by the mods.. [/end rant] Sorry.. It irrates me when people withhold information because it inconveinces them. Anyways, good luck sorting out the connectors. Hopefully they didn't add/delete too many circuits to really screw you up. I've had simular situations in the past. All I did was get both diagrams and resoder the correct connector onto the older harness where I could. On one particular instance on a guage cluster, one year had guages and the other had dummy lights.. So there wasn't much I could do with that.. In another incident, they(as in teh OEM) moved complete circuits to different connectors/connector clusters.. Also, do not trust wire coloring as idenification.. In fact, I hardly trust any schematic unless it comes out of a factory service manual. As you've found out, wiring changes year to year.. Haynes and Chilton are bad about printing one year specific diagrams.. Now this might not pertain to Mazda, but I would double and tripple check by simply comparing your harness to the schematic.. Last thing you want to do is fry somting or start a fire.. It sucks.. Trust me Edit: If you do any sodering, make sure you test the circuit for congruency. Another hard learned lesson for me

Sorry about the link...I searched through a bunch of crap on there to find that too...oh well Im sure that its the same diagram thats in the FSMs. Sorry I wasn't more help, best o luck with it.

A guy on RX7Club just finished the swap and is doing a full write up with pictures. He says it should be up Friday. I guess I'll pick my nose between now and then.
